Olivko Duo 500ml: why two bottles instead of one
One litre, two bottles. The second stays sealed until the first is finished.

Olivko Duo 500ml is two 500ml bottles of organic extra virgin olive oil from Tunisia — one litre in total. It is the most frequently chosen option for a kitchen that cooks daily without needing catering quantities.
The problem with a large bottle
Olive oil has two enemies once the bottle is open: oxygen and light. Oxygen is the one you cannot avoid, because it enters every time you pour.
When a one-litre bottle is down to its last quarter, three quarters of what is inside is air, and that oil may have been exposed for two months. The peppery note that marks fresh oil starts to fade, and a flat taste replaces it. The oil is still perfectly safe to eat — it is simply no longer the oil you paid for.
Two 500ml bottles solve this without you having to do anything. The second stays factory-sealed until you need it.
How to divide the two bottles
Most people work through them one after the other, and that is fine. But there is a second approach worth knowing if you cook a range of dishes.
- 1.The first bottle for cooking — sautéing, roasting, stirring through hot rice
- 2.The second for raw dishes — salad, hummus, poured over soup before serving
- 3.Keep the raw bottle in the darkest spot, because that is the one whose flavour you actually notice
The reasoning: olive oil tastes most of itself when it is not heated. Heat softens the peppery and bitter notes, so slightly older oil is still fine for sautéing, while raw dishes want a recently opened bottle.
Which kitchens it suits
- Two to four people cooking at home most days
- Households that have already tried olive oil and know they like it
- Anyone who cooks heavily at weekends and gets through oil quickly
- Not for a first try — for that, a 250ml bottle makes more sense
The oil inside
Both bottles hold the same oil: organic extra virgin, single-origin Tunisian, cold pressed, with a free acidity of 0.18% according to ONH Tunis report N° 2025B1064 dated 17 March 2026. The international ceiling for extra virgin is 0.8%, so that figure is under a quarter of the limit.
This bundle comes with a free jar of Madu Habbatussauda.
