The Rumah Sihat Set contains two 500ml bottles of Olivko and one 250ml bottle of Olivko Kids — 1.25 litres in total. It is built for a household that cooks every day and would rather stop thinking about when the oil runs out.
Every bottle in it is single-origin organic extra virgin olive oil from Tunisia, bottled at source. The contents are the same oil; what differs is the size and who each bottle is meant for.
How long 1.25 litres lasts
The answer depends entirely on how you cook, so these are rough figures and not a promise. A household that uses olive oil only for salads and finishing might get through 250ml in a month. One that sautés daily and roasts at the weekend can empty a 500ml bottle in three to four weeks.
For most Malaysian families moving part of their everyday cooking across to olive oil, this set lasts somewhere between a month and six weeks. That is why it is described as a month's supply.
Why two 500ml bottles instead of one litre bottle
Olive oil degrades on contact with oxygen. Every time you open the bottle and pour, air moves in to replace what came out, and the headspace inside keeps growing until the bottle is empty.
A one-litre bottle spends twice as long sitting half-empty as a 500ml bottle does. Two smaller bottles mean the second stays properly sealed until the first is finished — the oil you pour in week six is close to as fresh as the oil in week one.
The Kids bottle, and what makes it different
Olivko Kids is the same kind of organic extra virgin olive oil, in a 250ml bottle chosen for children's food. It is not a medical product and we make no health claims for it.
The practical reason is simple: a 250ml bottle empties faster, so the oil stirred into a child's porridge or rice is always from a recently opened bottle. It also separates the uses — the children's bottle does not get used up on the weekend sauté.
Storing a month's supply
- Keep unopened bottles in the coolest, darkest spot in the kitchen — a low cupboard, not the shelf above the stove
- Keep them away from the window. Light damages olive oil faster than room temperature does
- Open only one bottle at a time
- Close the cap after each pour, not after you finish cooking
- Do not store it beside the hob or the oven
Who this set is for
This set makes sense if you already know you like olive oil and you cook for more than two people. If you have never tried genuinely fresh extra virgin, start with a smaller bottle first — the peppery catch at the back of the throat surprises some people the first time, and it is better to discover that from a 250ml bottle.
Every Olivko bundle comes with a free jar of Madu Habbatussauda. The current price is on the product page.
